Bazaars!

March 30, 2012

Nowadays shopping comes in so many variations is hard too choose one favorite, but there is one that will always have our heart, that is one is the bazaar. The major difference between a bazar and a flea market is that the first one isn?t frequent. And if we have to mention one bazar expert that might be the mexicans. The tradition started many years ago, when the prehispanics cultures used to do bazars on the most populated cities and zones, they sold all kind of basic products and even have police that regulated every single sell, and of course the payment form was the bartering.

That has improve quite a lot within time. So if you are traveling to Mexico be sure to match your dates with this two major bazaars: La Lonja Mercantil and Hot Designers.

La Lonja Mercantil is organized by a group of young ladies that pick a big house in one of the hottest spots in Mexico city (Condesa, Roma, La Ju?rez) and invite more than 50 brands of food, clothing, jewelry, and even furniture to sell for one weekend their best stuff. If you are not in the mood for shopping don?t worry you can have a beer and listen to the band that plays at the end of the sale. La Lonja Mercantil has become the best excuse to shop things you can?t easily find on stores, show your best street style look and get together.

Hot Designers is the ultimate underground sale of fashion. Twice a year and for one weekend in Garash Galeria (Alvaro Obreg?n 49, colonia roma) many independent mexican designers get together to sell their creations.

If you are courious of other shopping mexican experiences we recommend you to take a look at Corredor Cultural Roma Condesa.
