1) What is 500 BC?
500 BC is a design label I conceptualized 7 years ago that was born out of my love for aesthetics and philosophy. The philosopher Karl Jaspers described the years surrounding 500 BC as being part of the axial age, a period of spiritual transformation in all important cultures around the globe.
2) What?s your most-loved 500 BC item, and why?
My favorite 500 BC item is the Tribal Blue Clutch; I love the juxtaposition of the bright ikat print with the faux leather?plus, it?s just the right size for a night out.
3) Do your frequent travels provide you with inspiration for your collections? If so, how?
My travels definitely inspire my design, as I gain a subliminal understanding of different cultures. My travels have also shaped the way I perceive myself and my own culture; thus, the way I view my designs has changed.
4)What was the most memorable trip you ever took?
I once had the opportunity to live in a tree house and go zip lining in the jungles of northern Laos, which was fantastic!
5)Where are you traveling this holiday season?
I?m currently on holiday in Koh Lipe, Thailand, which is incredible. The island is so serene, and it?s a much-needed break from my hectic work schedule at home.
6) What L-atitude items are on your holiday wishlist?
I love Dezso by Sara Beltran?s Tulum Black & White Wave Pouch?its simplistic design is intriguing, and I love seascapes!
I also love all of Holst + Lee?s necklaces, especially the Red Velvet Collar Necklace?its ultra-bright color palette punches up any ensemble.
Laura Siegel?s Rocky Patchwork Scarf is a vacation must-have?since it?s super light and stylish, it travels well and adds a boho aesthetic to any ensemble.
7) What three L-atitude items will you be gifting this holiday season, and why?
