The best beach in Mexico, Tulum is a one hour drive south of Cancun. It has better beaches than Cancun, cooler hotels, and more authentic food.

2. Sayulita

Sayulita beach and town, about a one hour drive north of Puerto Vallarta. The best place in Mexico to learn how to surf and the town is one of those places you never want to leave. Very family-friendly too.
