This is a truly delightful, modest but effective piece of jewelry. It is a folk choker necklace or perhaps an ornament that was pinned to a headdress from Turkey. There are many coin pendants. They are dated 1293 Hijri, but may be faux coins. The main parts are three raised filigree elements, a large central one and two smaller side ones. These filigree domes are connected together through three chains of increasing lengths creating an lovely chandelier effect. This lovely ornament was either worn around the neck or hung from a headdress. The hook on one end may have been added later. The necklace is made of lightly silver plated copper. It is in great vintage condition, though there is some wear to the silver surface.
- Silver tone over copper
- Length: 46 cm (18")
- The main pendant with its dangles drops 7.5 cm (3")
