Nomah Project was inspired by founder Linda Cassio's travels to her native country of Mexico where she discovered and fell in love with the amazing craftsmanship of the local artisans. She was so inspired that she decided to seek out more countries in Latin America that, like Mexico, have native communities that create beautiful naturally sourced and handmade goods. Nomah which means "my hand" in Nahuatl is her venture to create, promote and support artisanal goods across Latin America. Each product is 100% handmade and gives back to the indigenous communities from which the products are sourced.

Since 2010, Argentinian sisters Julieta and Florencia Gomez Gerbi have been working to reformulate the fine Ecuadorian tradition of straw hat weaving. Their label, Greenpacha, is profoundly rooted in values of sustainability, ethics and humanity, which are reflected in the collection of handwoven hats made by female artisans from natural fibers of toquilla palm. It is through their label that the Gerbi sisters continue to positively contribute to the beginning of a more sustainable and authentic fashion era.

Arteli works with women artisans from Usiacuri, a 9,000 people town located in the North Coast of Colombia. Most of these women artisans are head of their family and their main source of income is creating handmade bags. By working with such talented artists, Arteli has been able to intersect hand creation processes with the highest quality natural materials. The making process of the bags begins with raw Iraca palm tree leaves, dried with earth’s most powerful element, the Sun. Then, the dried leaves are dyed using vibrant colors, which are extracted from various natural elements. This entire process takes approximately three weeks. After this, artisans begin to work their magic, carefully weaving the leaves together to form these gorgeous pieces.

Shop Latitude x Dezso by Sara Beltran share a passion for artisans and their craft. Inspired by our travels, we’ve built our businesses to promote and elevate traditional craftsmanship from different cultures.
Over the years, we’ve immersed ourselves in Moroccan culture and aesthetic, and it was an organic collaboration for us to create this capsule collection with local artisans. Sara’s designs for us proffer the life of “A Sojourner in Marrakech.”
For this collection, we’ve combined Dezso’s main inspirations with the intricacies of Moroccan artistry. Our Woven Palm Cross-Body Bag & Woven Palm Tassel Tote showcase Sara’s market finds, and how she customized these local styles to Dezso’s classic aesthetic.
We are proud to partner with Project Soar on their efforts to empower girls in Morocco. 5% of sales from this Moroccan artisan-made collection will be donated to Project Soar’s efforts.
