What is your favorite place to spend the holiday season?

Because I travel so much, my favorite place to spend the holidays with my family is at our house in Northwestern Connecticut. A lot of our friends are around, and it's a particularly beautiful place in the snow.

What is your favorite holiday travel memory?

The best holiday season vacation that I can remember was to the Atacama Desert in Chile. We were there for Christmas and New Years, and the coziness of our lodge (the Explora Atacama), the ruggedness of the natural setting, and the extraordinary hiking and mountain biking made it all beyond perfect.

What is your must have holiday fashion item [to wear]?

It changes year to year. Last holiday season, it was a pair of red brocade slacks from Moschino with a black sweater and a mink shrug from Marni. This year, I will be relying on silk slacks printed with a grisaille sunflower pattern from Naeem Khan with a flowing white silk top from Stella McCartney.

Where is your favorite place to shop for gifts?

That's a hard question, but it would probably come down to a lingam from Phillips Antiques in Bombay (they're wonderful almost cubist-looking brass heads, and I won't say more?), or a black Zulu pot from South Africa.

What three things would you pick to give as gifts from the l-atitude site ?

The three things I would pick from L-atitude are the Navy Cotton Peshtemal Bathrobe, Polki Pave Earrings from Dezso by Sara Beltran, and a White Front Monica Ikat Caftan from Two (in fact, I'm going to order that now).
