Uzbekistan, which lies along the mythical Silk Road route, boasts a rich and storied Ikat tradition. In Uzbek, the name for Ikat is Arbandi; literally, to ‘tie a cloud’. According to legend, the first Ikat artisan drew inspiration to weave a shimmering, patterned cloth from seeing clouds reflected in a pool of water. The Ikat designs on these luxuriously large scarves are printed on swaths of silk crepe de chine. Each scarf is fashioned from vintage fabric from the Soviet-era 1980s. The swaths are collected for us piece by piece from Uzbek villages.

Customers will have 15 calendar days from receipt of your order for a complimentary size-exchange of the same item/style. We are happy to offer US & International customers free shipping for a one-time size exchange of purchased goods. If you'd like to purchase another item/style, please return the purchased item for a refund, and purchase your desired item/style as a new transaction.
