In Uzbek, the term used for ikat is 'abrbandi'; literally `to tie a cloud'. According to legend, the first ikat artisan drew inspiration to weave a shimmering, patterned cloth from seeing clouds reflected in a pool of water. Each silk and cotton (adras) swath is hand-dyed and hand-loomed in the Fergana Valley of Uzbekistan using a centuries-old technique, which encompasses upwards of 37 separate stages.

Customers will have 15 calendar days from receipt of your order for a complimentary size-exchange of the same item/style. We are happy to offer US & International customers free shipping for a one-time size exchange of purchased goods.
