Celebrate Holi, India’s festival of color and joy!

Every year, thousands of Indians participate in the festival of Holi celebrated on the first day after the full moon in early March. This festival often called the festival of color, has many purposes, first and foremost, it celebrates the beginning of spring.

Holi also has a religious purpose, commemorating many events in Hindu mythology as well as the triumph of “good” over “evil”.

Although holi maybe the least religious holiday on the Hindu calender, it is probably one of the most exhilarating. During this festival, participants of all social classes take to the streets to light bonfires and throw colored powder at each other, the idea is to absolutely go crazy reveling in the joy of spring.
